Lee Bowyer issues injury update after Charlton’s win at Nottingham Forest
Lee Bowyer gave an injury update after Charlton’s 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night.
Andre Green, Jonny Williams, Darren Pratley and Sam Field all missed the victory on Tuesday having all been part of the matchday 18 against Stoke City at the weekend.
Speaking to London News Online, Bowyer said “Field just had a little reoccurrence with his knee, so, he’s got to see the West Brom doctor. I don’t know how bad that is.
Darren Pratley has had time out through injury this season and Bowyer revealed it is age that is catching up with the veteran midfielder. “Pratley, his back seized up during the game on Saturday. That’s what happens when you get on a bit, that’s what I said to him! It’s wear and tear. He’s played near enough every ninety minutes so far of the season. I think it’s just caught up with him a bit.
Bowyer also explained the absences of both Jonny Williams and Aston Villa loanee Andree Green. “Jonny Williams, I left him behind because we’ve now got Aidy (Aiden McGeady). There’s no point risking him. He’s very fragile. We’ve got a massive game on Saturday.
“Andre Green, he had a bit of a sore knee but he had it before Stoke. It was one of them that was too much of a risk. I’m hopeful he’ll be OK for the weekend.”
